Chicken Parmesan Baked Pasta Recipe

My li'l Samantha is a HUGE fan of chicken parmesan sandwiches. And so this seemed a good recipe to try. I have made pasta bakes before and they've been a little dry. But this was delectable! Total keeper

Ingredients:
-1 box of pasta (12 oz.) - whatever kind you prefer/have on hand. I used the elbows with extra protein
-2 c. chicken - cooked and shredded or cubed (to taste)
-1 c. parmesan cheese
-2 c. mozzarella cheese (shredded)
-pinch of salt
-1/4 tsp. pepper
-25 oz. whatever pasta sauce you prefer
-2 cloves garlic, minced
-1 c. basil, chopped (I had partially dried basil on hand and ended up using about 1/3 c. and it was fine!)

Preheat oven to 375. Cook pasta. Drain and place back into the pot you just boiled it in. Add chicken and tomato sauce. Add 1/2 of basil (this is where I used 1/3 c.), salt, garlic and pepper. Mix well. Pour 1/2 of the pasta into a 9x13 casserole dish. Cover with 1 c. mozzarella cheese and then cover with the rest of the pasta. Cover this with the rest of the mozzarella and the parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Garnish with more basil (optional) and serve!
